A pattern of self-defeating behavior is taking its toll on us in the ‘Instant Age’. This pattern could be any of the following:
- Comparing one’s behind the scenes with another’s highlight reel
- Emulating so-called “trends” without much forethought and succumbing to peer pressure
- Chasing one high after another but unable to deal with the lows
- Seeking validation from outside instead of self-evaluation which negatively affects one’s self-worth
- Limiting one's feelings, expressions and conclusions to likes, dislikes, emojis, and 160 character tweets is an unhealthy trend. It is probably diminishing an individual’s thinking, understanding, and perception.
Having fallen for the lure of the ‘Instant Age’, we develop these patterns, knowingly or unknowingly. And we have all experienced its downside at some point of time in our lives.
