When I purchased the Nikon D5600, my life’s first DSLR camera, on Thanksgiving last year my excitement was through the roof. So before the camera arrived I started watching tutorials on YouTube to learn the basics.
For the next few days, all I could think of was shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, the basics of digital photography. I imagined starting a photography page and eventually make my hobby a career, the dreaming just wouldn’t stop. I only came to realize later how much time and effort goes into learning photography.
It requires the passion to get out each day and look at the same thing differently. It requires a lot of effort and learning to change the lens, adjust the settings, and then take a picture. It requires a lot more than I had imagined and my respect for photography as an art has deepened ever since. As for my learning curve, I have only taken my first baby steps in this direction. I have a long way to go!
